Brief
To create an unforgettable performance for The Northern Lights Festival that would complement the magnificent surroundings of the Minster. The event was a fundraising dinner complete with light installations that raised money to maintain and protect the medieval stained glass.
Outcome
Upon seeing the scale and gothic architecture of the building, there was one option that came to mind that we knew would do the space justice and be a real wow factor for the guests. That act was Heliosphere, which involves an acrobat elegantly spiralling and spinning underneath a hot air balloon. The stunning illuminated sphere floated seamlessly through the minster’s nave over the heads of the guests which was really unexpected. The contemporary nature of the performance and the light installation forming a perfect juxtaposition for this historic building.
