“Lost in Space” in Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall for Omega

Our acrobatic astronaut "Lost in Space" in Tate's Turbine Hall

Client
Picnic Productions

Venue
Tate Modern (Turbine Hall)

Brief
To provide an impactful space-themed performer for the 60th Anniversary of the Omega Speedmaster, the NASA-qualified watch worn by Buzz Aldrin on his moon mission in Apollo 11.

Outcome
Acrobat and aerialist Felipe, dressed in an authentic astronaut suit was harnessed to near invisible wires and performed slow-motion acrobatics above the heads of the audience as  though weightless in space, paying tribute to the Speedmaster’s legacy in space exploration. The lighting and event design at the event had a futuristic feel and our spaceman was the perfect fit.

Special guests in attendance at the event included George Clooney (OMEGA brand ambassador) and Buzz Aldrin (Second man on the moon).
